Dollar exchange rate for 2021 to remain at R$5.30 – Focus survey Brazil
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Focus Market Report, released by the Central Bank on Monday, June 7, showed the maintenance of the scenario for the U.S. currency in 2021. The median of forecasts for the exchange rate at the end of the period remained at R$5.30, compared to R$5.35 a month ago.
For 2022, the projection for the exchange rate also remained at R$5.30, compared to R$5.40 four surveys ago.
The projection for the exchange rate published in Focus is now based on the average for the rate in the month of December, and no longer on the projected value for the last working day of each year. The change was announced last January by the Central Bank. Thus, the institution expects to provide greater accuracy to the financial market’s exchange rate projections.
