Explosions in Beirut Strike Brazilian Embassy and Diplomats’ Residence

According to government sources, all the embassy windows were shattered. As the explosion occurred when the workday was over, no one was injured.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Although far from the port, the Brazilian embassy in Beirut was damaged by the explosions in the Lebanese capital and at least one residence of diplomats is uninhabitable after the incident. However, no official has been injured and, at least for the time being, there are no reports of Brazilians in critical condition.

According to government sources, all the embassy windows were shattered. As the explosion occurred when the workday was over, no one was injured. The last employee had just left the premises when the explosion struck the embassy.
