Firefighters Find 9th Collapse Victim in Fortaleza

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - In the late afternoon, the teams removed from the rubble the body of the building's superintendent, Maria das Graças Rodrigues, 53 years old, the only person still missing.

The firefighters also announced that they had stopped searching for survivors. At a collective press conference, the commander of the rescue operation, Eduardo Holanda, said seven people were recovered alive during the rescue teams' work.

By the end of the operation, the soldiers paid tribute to the victims of the landslide.
