Food Price Drop Slows Consumer Inflation

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The drop in food prices slowed consumer inflation within the General Price Index - 10 (IGP-10) of September, reported on Monday, September 16th, the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV).

The Consumer Price Index (CPI-10) rose 0.05 percent in September, after an advance of 0.24 percent in August. Five of the eight expense classes have recorded lower variation rates, with emphasis on the Food group . . .
