RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazilian industrial production registered a drop of 1.3% in April compared to the previous month, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) reported Wednesday, June 2. In comparison with the same month a year earlier, production rose 34.7 percent.

The expectations in a Reuters poll of economists had been for a 0.1 percent increase in the monthly variation and 37.0 percent on an annual basis . . .
