Brasília Provides ‘Drive Thru’ Rapid Coronavirus Test

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The free rapid test for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) kicked off on Tuesday, April 21st in Brasília, at two drive-thru posts located in the Mané Garrincha stadium and the City Park, in the central region of the Federal District.

The service is performed on a first-come, first-served basis, inside the person's own vehicle, who is not allowed to leave the car unless otherwise instructed by the health team.

Anyone taking the test will be logged in at the entrance to the drive-thru and will undergo temperature screening, by means of a thermal camera, conducted by the Fire Brigade. All those having no symptoms will not be tested.

The service is performed on a first-come, first-served basis, inside the person’s own vehicle; occupants are not allowed to leave the car unless otherwise instructed by the health team. The use of face masks is also recommended from the time of leaving home, and each car should carry no more than four people.

In order to be tested, individuals must provide their ID and proof of address. The procedure may involve collecting blood or throat and nose swabs.
