Number of Violent Deaths per Year in Brazil Dropped 10.43 Percent in 2018

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil recorded 57,341 intentional violent deaths in 2018, a reduction of 10.43 percent over the previous year when the figure totaled 64,021.

The data are part of the 2019 Brazilian Annual Report on Public Safety, released yesterday, September 10th by the Brazilian Forum on Public Safety. The total for 2018 was the lowest since 2013 (55,847 cases).
