Official Inflation in Brazil for Year 2019 Closed at 4.31 Percent

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Official inflation, as measured by the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), closed 2019 at 4.31 percent. The rate is higher than the 3.75 percent observed in 2018, according to data released on Friday, January 10th, by the Brazilian Geography and Statistics Institute (IBGE).

The rate was also above the center of the inflation target, set by the Central Bank for 2019 at 4.25 percent.
