RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A group of protesters gathered this afternoon, June 26, at Avenida Paulista, in central São Paulo, calling for the impeachment of President Jair Bolsonaro in the wake of suspicions of a corruption scheme in the purchase of the Indian vaccine Covaxin.
The protesters, who also lamented the more than 500,000 deaths in the country due to Covid-19, began the walk around 4:30 pm. The circulation of vehicles on one of the capital’s main avenues, in the Consolação direction, was interrupted by the Traffic Engineering Company (CET).
