Protests in Brazil: Bolsonaro in 1st speech of the day – “I do not tolerate that other people play outside the four lines”

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On the morning of this Tuesday (7), the 199th anniversary of Brazil’s Independence, President Jair Bolsonaro spoke, in the first of three speeches planned for the day, that he will not admit that “other people play outside the four lines” of the Constitution.

“I will continue to play inside the four lines, but from now on, I will not tolerate that other people, one or two, play outside the four lines. The rule of the game is only one: respect for our Constitution, freedom of opinion, and always having our Constitution, which is the will of the people, above everyone else,” said the head of the Brazilian president during an open social network live.

The president participates this morning, together with authorities of the federal government, in hoisting the National Flag in front of the Alvorada Palace, the official residence of the Presidency of the Republic.

Later, the president will head to the Ministries Esplanade to give a speech to his supporters, who have been there since early Monday (6).

After participating in the ceremonies in Brasilia, Bolsonaro will proceed to São Paulo, where he will make, according to him, a larger speech to supporters on Paulista Avenue.

“I just today want to be the spokesperson for you. And say that whatever we speak from now on, I am speaking, has the name of you, Brazilian people. Our country cannot continue being held hostage by one or two people. It doesn’t matter where they are. These one or two people either get on track, or they will be ignored from public life. This is my job,” concluded Bolsonaro.
