Same-sex Marriage in Brazil Increased by Over 60 Percent in 2018

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The 2018 Civil Registry Statistics survey shows that same-sex marriage increased by 61.7 percent last year compared to 2017. In 2018, 9,520 same-sex partnerships were registered, compared to 5,887 in 2017. The data were released yesterday, December 4th, by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
