RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – With high unemployment in Brazil – considering data before the impact of the novel coronavirus crisis – the number of microentrepreneurs continued to grow in the first quarter of 2020.

The number of MEIs (Individual Microentrepreneurs) rose 12.6 percent over the same period last year, according to data from Boa Vista, to be released on Monday, May 4th.

With high unemployment in Brazil - considering data before the impact of the novel coronavirus crisis - the number of microentrepreneurs continued to grow in the first quarter.
