Monthly Vehicle Production Climbs 16.6 Percent in October, Announces ANFAVEA

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the report released yesterday, November 6th, by the National Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers (ANFAVEA), the figure represents an increase of 9.6 percent in comparison to October 2018.

In the first ten months of the year, 2.55 million vehicles were produced, an increase of 3.6 percent over the 2.46 million manufactured from January to October of last year.

Sales climbed 7.9 percent in October compared to September this year but fell 0.5 percent compared to the same month in 2018, when 254,700 vehicles were sold.

In October this year, 253,400 cars were sold. In the ten months of the year, the number of new unit registrations totaled 2.28 million, an increase of 8.7 percent in relation to the same period last year.

Exports dropped 34.7 percent from January to October, with the sale of 367,500 units in the foreign market. In the same period last year, sales abroad totaled 563 thousand vehicles.

In October there was a 22.6 percent retraction compared to the same month last year, with the export of 30,000 vehicles.

The level of employment fell by 2.8 percent in October this year in relation to the same period last year, with 127,724 people working in the sector.
