ANFAVEA: Motor Vehicle Production in Brazil up 2.3 Percent in 2019

There were 2.94 million vehicles manufactured, including the segments of automobiles, vans, trucks, and buses. It is the largest annual volume since 2014, the first year before the economic crisis, when automakers produced 3.15 million vehicles.

2019 is the third consecutive year of growth. Since 2018, the rise has been driven only by increased demand in the domestic market, rather than exports. Sales to Brazilian consumers grew 8.6 percent in 2019, to 2.79 million units.
