Violent Crime Drops 21 Percent in State of Rio de Janeiro, Institute Says

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Violent crimes - which include murder, robbery followed by death and bodily injury followed by death - showed a 21 percent decrease in the state of Rio in 2019, compared to the previous year.

The data were released on Tuesday, December 17th, by the Institute of Public Safety (ISP), linked to the state government.

The year 2019 recorded 3,816 victims of violent crimes, representing the lowest number of the past . . .
