Covid-19: Argentina receives 570,000 doses of Sinopharm, reaches 55 million vaccinations

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Argentina received Friday 570,000 new doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine and reached 55,471,120 doses received from different suppliers since the Covid-19 vaccination campaign started in December 2020.

With this latest arrival, which took place via a Qatar Airways flight, the South American country received a total of 3,248,000 doses of Sinopharm throughout the week.

Since the beginning of the campaign, Argentina has received 55,471,120 vaccines against the coronavirus, of which 15,000,920 are Sputnik V: 10,955,260 of the first component (of which 1,179,625 were produced by the Richmond laboratory) and 4,045,660 of the second component (702,500 were produced in the Argentine laboratory).

From AstraZeneca, the country already has 15,594,200 vaccines among the 580,000 from Covishield, the 1,944,000 received by the Covax mechanism, 11,859,200 provided directly by the laboratory, 400,000 donated by Spain, and 811,000 by Mexico. Meanwhile, 21,176,000 are from the Sinopharm laboratory, 200,000 from Cansino, and 3,500,000 from Moderna, donated by the United States.

According to official data, 49,774,574 doses have been distributed throughout the country up to today. In comparison, 43,696,315 doses have been applied, of which 28,183,966 correspond to the first dose, and another 15,512,349 people already have the two doses.
