Brazil closes July with lowest weekly average of Covid cases of the year (July 31)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil recorded 37,582 new cases and 910 deaths attributed to coronavirus on the last day of July. This is the lowest weekly daily average of infections this year, and the number of deaths is below 1,000, according to official government figures released Saturday.

Since the first infection on Feb. 26, 2020, and the first death on March 12 of the same year, both in São Paulo, the country now has 19,917,855 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and a total of 556,370 deaths.
