Brazil Passes 200,000 Deaths Milestone with 1,524 Fatalities in 24 Hours (January 7th)

The country has recorded over 7.9 million cases since the start of the pandemic.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil, one of the most affected countries by the pandemic, on Thursday, January 7th, reported 87,843 new infections of the novel coronavirus and 1,524 Covid-19-related deaths.

These data represent an increase in the daily number of cases and deaths, given that on Wednesday 1,242 deaths and 63,430 cases were reported.

In total, the country has recorded 7,961,673 cases and 200,498 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
