RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Chilean health authorities reported a positivity rate of 1.78% this Sunday, August 1, after performing 59,375 PCR tests during the day at the national level, the lowest rate of the entire Covid-19 pandemic since its arrival in the country in March 2020.
A positivity rate (number of positive results per 100 tests performed) of less than 5% for two consecutive weeks is one of the epidemiological criteria established by the World Health Organization (WHO) to consider the pandemic under control.
