Colombia adds 4,350 cases of Covid, the lowest figure in more than 4 months

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the Ministry of Health, Colombia added 4,350 coronavirus infections, the lowest figure since March 16, when it reported 3,716 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 4,838,984.

According to the daily bulletin of the health authority, the country also added 181 deaths this day, of which 167 occurred in previous days, for a total of 122,458 fatalities.

The country has recorded the lowest number of deaths and infections; only 53,071 cases remain active, corresponding to 1.1%.

The highest numbers of infections were recorded in Bogota (1,213), Antioquia (931), Valle del Cauca (404), Santander (274) and Atlántico (222).

On the other hand, deaths were reported mainly in Bogota (38), Antioquia (23), and Valle del Cauca (17).

The regions with the highest number of infections continue to be Bogota (1,426,815), Antioquia (722,083), Valle del Cauca (390,850), Atlántico (310,220) and Cundinamarca (259,518).

Today, 56,087 samples were processed, 35,501 of them PCR samples and 20,586 antigen samples, for a total of 23 million tests performed.

The Ministry of Health also informed that a new batch of vaccines from the AstraZeneca laboratory arrived in the country with 204,000 doses today.

Colombia has received 3,475,500 serums from this pharmaceutical company, of which 2,066,400 arrived through the Covax mechanism and 1,409,100 through bilateral agreement.

Colombia has received 36,542,914 doses, of which 2.1 million correspond to the acquisition of the private sector and 6 million to donations from the U.S. Government.

On Saturday, 233,043 doses were administered, for a total of 30,244,618 vaccines administered, of which 13,182,770 people have the full schedule.
