France Bans Use of Hydroxychloroquine in Treatment of Covid-19

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The French government has officially banned the use of hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of Covid-19 in hospitals. The decision was announced on Wednesday morning, May 27th, after two public health agencies in the country declared themselves against its use.

Since late March, hydroxychloroquine, a drug derived from chloroquine used against malaria, has been exceptionally administered in French hospitals to treat severe cases of the novel coronavirus.
