India overtakes Brazil in number of deaths per day

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - India surpassed Brazil in the number of deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 on April 29th, with the pandemic reaching new peaks with the largest outbreaks in India and South America, according to data from the World Health Organization (WHO).

In cumulative terms, the United States continues to have the highest number of deaths from the pandemic to date (568,836), Brazil comes second (398,185), and India third (208,330).
