Mexican Official Says Country Among Main Tourist Destinations Least Affected by Covid-19

Preliminary data from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) at the end of 2020 suggests that Mexico would rise from the seventh place (which it occupied in 2019) to the third; while Russia, Poland and Austria would manage to enter the list of the ten nations that receive the most tourists

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL -  The head of the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco Marqués, pointed out that, proportionally, for every one hundred thousand inhabitants, the country registers the lowest number of Covid-19 cases among some of the nations most visited by tourists. Nevertheless, it lags behind several of the major developed countries.
