Bolivia announces seven-day border closure with Brazil

The Health Service of Santa Cruz announced that the border with Brazil would be closed for seven days, due to the increase of cases with the Brazilian variant of the coronavirus.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - "The border is closed for seven days, all the country's borders with Brazil. It is a central level decision that we have been asking for 15 days", said the manager of Epidemiology of Sedes de Santa Cruz, Carlos Hurtado, in a press conference.

He also pointed out that, although the authorities have already decided, the matter would be specified in a cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday, where the conditions and dates for the closing of the border would be defined.
