Bolivia extends border closure with Brazil for another 7 days

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Bolivia has extended the closure of its border with Brazil for a further 7 days. The information was confirmed late on Friday afternoon, April 9, by the Bolivian Ministry of Health.

According to the agency, the border closure is due to concerns regarding the entry of the Brazilian P1 variant and the increase in Covid-19 cases, since the cities in the border region lack ICU beds structure.

Also according to the agency, the border should remain closed until next Friday, April 16, with time frames in which passage will be permitted only between border towns . . .
