Bolivia’s epidemiology chief resigns amid mass vaccination

Bolivian epidemiology chief María Bolivia Rothe announced on Tuesday her resignation from the position as mass vaccination starts in the country, amidst allegations of shortage of Covid-19 vaccine doses, which the Government of Luis Arce has denied.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Rothe confirmed her resignation through her Twitter account in which she emphasized that her resignation is due to "strictly personal reasons" and denied that it is due to "disagreements" with the Minister of Health, Jeyson Auza, or with the State portfolio.

"Jeyson Auza is not only a great Minister, but my partner and my brother, with whom we have militated in difficult times, defending our process of change," Rothe wrote.
