Chile Civil Commotion Toll: More than Twenty Dead, over 9,000 Detained

Denunciations of human rights violations and institutional violence in the country have multiplied.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The outbreaks in Chile have left a tragic result of 20 dead, hundreds injured and 9,203 arrested, according to an official report released on Tuesday, October 29th, by the Chilean Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.

The balance includes data on deaths and injuries accounted for between October 19th, when protests and riots began, and October 28th, but do not include the severe incidents recorded on Monday afternoon in Santiago, Concepción . . .
