Chile vaccinates 50% of the population with at least one dose but cases continue to rise

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Yesterday, 7,357 new infections and 218 deaths were registered, one of the highest figures in the pandemic, totaling over 1.1 million cases and 24,766 deaths.

Of the more than 12 million people inoculated, more than 5 million have now been administered the two vaccine doses, mostly from the Chinese Sinovac laboratory and, to a lesser extent, from Pfizer/BioNTech.

Chile, which in March became the fastest covid-19 vaccinator in the world, is now the third country that administers the most new doses per day behind Israel and the United Arab Emirates, according . . .
