Ecuador ranks 94th (out of 139 world countries) in the ranking on corruption – study
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The World Justice Project published on Thursday, October 14, 2021, the Global Rule of Law Index 2021. It is a study that measures the relationship between justice and its practice in everyday life. The list places Ecuador in 94th place, out of 139 countries evaluated, in the absence of corruption.
The country had a setback in this aspect, reaching a score of 0.41, less than in 2020 when it had 0.42. The Legislative and Judicial branches had the lowest scores, with 0.27 and 0.40, respectively.

The index also evaluates other aspects such as controls on government powers, open government, compliance with fundamental rights, order and security, compliance with government regulations, civil justice, and criminal justice.

According to the general index, Ecuador ranks 92nd out of 139 countries evaluated, with a score of 0.48, down 1 point from last year. In the Latin America and Caribbean region, it ranks 21st out of 32 countries.
Ecuador’s greatest relative strength is open government, ranking 19th in the Latin American and Caribbean region and 68th in the world.
Denmark occupies first place in the ranking and has 0.90 points, and the worst is Venezuela, which is in last place and has 0.27 points.
