Latin American Leaders Call for Free Access to Future Covid-19 Vaccines

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL -  Latin America has taken a heavy blow from COVID-19 with nearly nine million cases and more than 330,000 deaths, one third of the global total, according to a tally based on official data.

“With the pandemic, as with poverty, nobody will be saved on their own,” Argentine President Alberto Fernandez told the UN General Assembly, which is taking place virtually due to the health crisis.

He called on a COVID-19 vaccine to be declared a “global public good.”
