Maduro Threatens to “Kick Brazil’s and Colombia’s Teeth In”
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro made threats to the governments of Brazil and Colombia in his annual message to the nation on Tuesday night, January 14th.
Without giving further details or presenting evidence, the Venezuelan President said he knows the “plans” of the two nations and threatened to “kick their teeth in” in the event of military aggression against Venezuela.

“I know the imperialist plans [of the United States] and I know in detail the plans of the Colombian oligarchies and Jair Bolsonaro,” said Maduro. “If they dare, we will punch their teeth in so that they learn to respect the National Bolivarian Armed Force and the people of [Simón] Bolívar.
The Brazilian president has already ruled out the use of the Military to force an exchange of government in Venezuela, despite having already discussed the matter with the United States. But tensions between the two countries remain high.
In November 2019, the Venezuelan embassy in Brasilia was the scene of a confusion between diplomats and supporters of Maduro and supporters of opposition leader Juan Guaidó.
The situation between Venezuela and Colombia is also tense. In recent months, Maduro has accused the Colombian government of preparing false border attacks to demand a military response from the country and thus allow US intervention in the region.
