RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The 7.2 magnitude earthquake registered last Saturday in the southwest of Haiti caused at least 2,189 deaths and 12,268 injured, according to the latest official balance sheet released on Tuesday.
According to data from Civil Protection, this death toll is 248 more than the previous day, the body coordinating rescue operations.
According to the latest Civil Protection bulletin, the region most affected by the earthquake is the South department, where 1,832 fatalities have been recorded . . .
