Medical Cannabis Expo arrives in Mexico to boost the business

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – At a time of debate in Mexico over the legalization of marijuana for various uses, the Expo Cannabis Medicinal 2021 is being held this week to raise awareness of the growing business and try to encourage investment in medical cannabis farms.

“We think cannabis is bad because we are afraid of the unknown, but it is a plant with many, many properties. There will be experts to learn a little more about what it is, break the stigma and take advantage of this business opportunity,” explained Zvezda Lauric, international spokesperson for Medical Cannabis.

The event will take place on June 24 and 25 at Expo Santa Fé, in the southwest of Mexico City, where during two days there will be a different speaker every half hour, who after his turn will be able to answer the attendees’ doubts.

The main areas to be covered by the various experts will be the discoveries on the benefits of medical cannabis and the business opportunities presented by this industry, explained Silas Howarth, co-founder of Expo Cannabis.

Regarding the danger posed by criminal groups and drug traffickers in Mexico, the organizers believe that the industry they promote can act “as a counterweight,” and that is why, in addition to the great niche that is the country, they have already registered their presence in Mexico.

In relation to the possible legalization of non-profit consumption and cultivation in Mexico, Lauric commented that they are closely following the progress and will be attentive to what is happening.

They also insisted on the powers of medical cannabis to be used as a palliative for chronic conditions such as diabetes or cancer.

“We are going to break those barriers and start talking about this openly, talk about the possibilities of medical cannabis and link it with the possibility of doing business,” Lauric concluded.

According to the organizers, this fair is one of the largest and most relevant on medical cannabis ever held in Latin America.

Expo Cannabis was born in Africa, where it grew to become the most important cannabis event on the continent.

The use of medical cannabis has been decriminalized in Mexico since 2017, but the regulations governing its use, sale, and distribution were not published until January 2021.
