The IDB head will be accompanied by several organization authorities, including Benigno López, who last year left the post of Finance Minister of Paraguay after being appointed vice-president of Sectors and Knowledge of the multilateral organization.

The Ministry of Finance said in a statement that the visit of the IDB president is part of the strategic partner relationship that the country maintains with the institution.

Claver-Carone took office in 2020 after serving as advisor for the Americas to then US President Donald Trump.
