Covid-19: What do I need to present when entering Peru?

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The recent change in entry regulations in Peru has caused some doubt and uncertainty. Until last weekend, people who were not vaccinated with two doses of Covid-19 vaccine had to present a certificate of a negative test. However, the government has instituted new requirements that are effective as of Monday, September 21.

Below are the current entry requirements for Peru:

A complete vaccination record and a negative Covid test no longer than 72 hours ago are required to enter Peru by nationals and foreigners coming from countries with a high immunization rate.

Passengers must present the results of the Covid test and preferably the vaccination card of the country where they were vaccinated (Photo internet reproduction)

Peruvians and foreigners (resident or non-resident) whose final destination is Peru, regardless of their country of origin, must present a negative Covid test, the result of which must be available at least 72 hours before boarding at the point of origin.

Beginning at 00:00 on Monday, September 20, persons over 18 from countries where more than 70% of the population is vaccinated will be asked to confirm their vaccination against Covid-19.

An affidavit of the traveler’s health status must also be submitted as a PDF file, cell phone photo, or printout.

Those showing symptoms upon entry must undergo mandatory isolation.

Passengers must present the results of the Covid test and preferably the vaccination card of the country where they were vaccinated. The Ministry of Health informed that the presentation of the Covid-19 vaccination card is not a mandatory requirement for entry into Peru.
