Taiwan to Build 3,600 Homes for Impoverished Families in Paraguay
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A meeting took place yesterday afternoon at the residence of former President Horacio Cartes, attended by the Taiwanese Ambassador to Paraguay, Diego Chou, the former Minister of Industry, Gustavo Leite and Senators Javier Zacarías Irún, Juan Darío Monges, Sergio Godoy, Antonio Barrios, among others from the Honor Colorado bench.
At the end of the meeting, the ambassador announced the continuity of the Che Tapyi program that aims to build housing solutions for low-income families.
“We always have Paraguay in our hearts, we want to provide more and better benefits, we always want to support the Paraguayan people,” said Chou after the meeting.
He detailed that 1,800 homes are planned for native peoples of the Chaco, 600 for the homeless and another 1,600 for the families of the Bañado Norte.
“There are about 3,600 of them that we are going to build over the next three to four years,” Chou said.
Former President Horacio Cartes has maintained excellent relations with Taiwan since the beginning of his government and knew how to preserve them until after his administration ended.
Last Friday, Cartes congratulated the Republic of China (Taiwan) on the 108th anniversary of its independence.
