Luis Heber, until now Minister of Transport, becomes new Uruguayan Interior Minister

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The hitherto Minister of Transport and Public Works of Uruguay, Luis Alberto Heber, will be the new head of Interior after the death of Jorge Larrañaga last Saturday, the president of the South American country, Luis Lacalle Pou, announced on Monday, May 24.

“I asked @Luisaheber (Heber’s official account) to take charge of @Minterioruy to continue with the management carried out by Jorge Larrañaga. A process of changes, defense of Uruguayans, respect, and support for the Police will continue”, the president wrote in his official Twitter account.

Larrañaga was buried this noon in Paysandú, his hometown, after passing away on Saturday at the age of 64 in Montevideo after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest.
