Uruguayan Minister of Environment survives car accident unharmed

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Uruguayan Minister of Environment, Adrián Peña, suffered a car accident on Thursday (8) when he hit another vehicle on the road, which caused a spectacular rollover of the car in which he was traveling, but in which all those involved were unharmed.

This was detailed by one of the minister’s advisors, who was also traveling in the vehicle and explained that the accident occurred when returning from a tour of the department (province) of Florida.

According to the source, a car overtook another “on a steep slope” on the road and then crashed head-on into the vehicle in which Peña and his team traveled.

“There we started to have overturned and spins, we hit another car that was coming from the front as well”, he pointed out and emphasized that they were able to get out on their own.

The consultant was surprised by the outcome of the accident given the spectacular nature of the crash and the rollovers and added that those who saw it from the outside thought that it would be impossible for anyone to get out of there alive.

The local newspaper El País reported that the driver allegedly caused the accident by overtaking a vehicle in a prohibited zone had a negative blood alcohol test.
