Venezuela and Cuba will jointly produce “Abdala” anti-Covid vaccine

From her official Twitter account, Delcy Rodríguez expressed that “the Abdala vaccine is from ALBA countries, with middle income, there is the hand of solidarity of Cuba and the Caribbean. We will produce the vaccine in Venezuela, it has been an unambiguous instruction from President Nicolás Maduro.”

On Thursday afternoon, the Venezuelan Vice President and a delegation from Cuba supervised the Espromed Bio Plant’s operation to produce the vaccine against the coronavirus developed on the island.

“Today, we have been accompanied by the Cuban delegation to this plant to verify all the conditions that are in place for the production of the Abdala vaccine in our country,” said the Venezuelan high official.

Venezuela registered 1,184 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, said Delcy Rodriguez in a press conference. “There are currently 14,822 active cases, 90% of them are recovered. Ninety-seven percent of these cases are in the Public Health System”, said the Venezuelan politician.

The Executive Vice-President stated on Thursday that “more than half of the deaths reported in the world in the last few weeks occurred in the region of the Americas. South America is the epicenter of the pandemic due to the irresponsibility of Jair Bolsonaro,” said the Bolivarian leader.
