Brazil Tops Spain and Ranks 5th in Number of Covid-19 Victims (May 29th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil recorded 1,124 new coronavirus deaths in 24 hours and, with a total of 27,878 victims since the start of the pandemic, is now the fifth country with the highest death toll, ahead of Spain.

The European country recorded a total of 27,121 deaths. The country was one of the most affected by the Covid-19 crisis. The government decreed strict lockdown for more than two months, which began to be relaxed two weeks ago as cases and deaths slowed down.

The other four countries with the most deaths are the United States . . .
