Civil Police Investigate Death of American Tourist in Paraty, Rio State

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Civil Police is investigating the death of an American tourist in Paraty, on the Rio State’s Green Coast.
According to information from the district, the body of Danielle Davila, 32, was found in a room of an inn in the Jabaquara neighborhood this Sunday, and an examination was conducted at the scene.
According to Superintendent Marcello Russo, in charge of the 167th Police Department (Paraty), there were no apparent signs of violence on the woman’s body, who was staying in Paraty and working informally as a musician. She played in city bars.
Witnesses reported that Danielle had been drinking heavily the night before. However, the police are awaiting the autopsy report, which will determine the cause of death.
A police inquiry has been initiated to investigate the case. Danielle’s sister and mother are due to arrive in Brazil this Wednesday.
