RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Argentina's government said on May 18 that the past 24 hours had seen new daily records for cases and deaths from Covid-19, due to a strong second wave of the pandemic that puts the country among the five with the worst daily numbers in the world.
According to Health Ministry data, the daily number of infections rose to 35,543, while a total of 745 people died.
Since the pandemic began in the first quarter of 2020, Argentina has reported 3.371 million cases and 71,771 deaths.
