Argentina tightens restrictions as pandemic worsens

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, announced a harsh tightening of sanitary restrictions on Thursday in the face of the worsening of the second wave of the covid-19 pandemic.

In a message on national TV, Fernández said that between next Saturday and Sunday 30 and during the weekend of June 5 and 6, there would be strong restrictions on circulation and economic and social activity in the areas of the country at “high risk” and sanitary “alarm”.

Other general sanitary measures will be in force until June 11.
