RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The federal government is expected to announce the purchase of 100 million doses of Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine. The agreement with the pharmaceutical company was confirmed on Wednesday, and will be announced by Health Minister Eduardo Pazuello.
According to sources, 100 million doses of the vaccine are expected to be delivered throughout the year.
Considered one of the most effective immunizers, Pfizer's vaccine was facing resistance from the government due to contractual clauses that provided for an exemption from liability of the manufacturer - a legal hurdle that seems to have been overcome.
