Brazil Records 1,039 Deaths in 24 Hours; Total Mortality Climbs to 24,512 (May 26th)

The State of São Paulo continues to lead in the number of cases and deaths from the disease, followed by Rio de Janeiro and Ceará.

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Brazil recorded 1,039 new deaths caused by Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, which increased the total number of deaths from the disease to 24,512 in the country, according to a report released on Tuesday evening, May 26th, by the Ministry of Health. Between Monday and Tuesday, 16,324 new cases of infection by the novel coronavirus were recorded and now there are 391,222 people infected.
