Brazil records 2,966 new deaths from Covid-19 and total reaches 411,588 (May 4)
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil on Tuesday reported 2,966 new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 411,588, the Health Ministry said.
There were also 77,359 new coronavirus cases, with the total number of infections in the country advancing to 14,856,888, the Ministry added.

The daily figures reported by the Ministry rose again after two days at below-average levels, as they usually retreat on Sundays and Mondays due to the damming up of tests on weekends.
The day before, the country had recorded fewer than 1,000 deaths in a single day for the first time in almost two months.
Brazil has the second-highest number of Covid-19 deaths globally, below only the United States, and the third-highest count of confirmed coronavirus cases, behind the US and India.
