Chile and Uruguay to vaccinate youths aged 12 and older against Covid-19

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Health authorities in Chile and Uruguay this week approved the administration of Pfizer/BioNTech's Covid-19 vaccine to minors 12 years of age and older. The approval of immunization of adolescents in the South American countries comes after the United States, Canada and the European Union (EU) had approved the vaccine for this age group.

The information about the approval in Chile was released by the Public Health Institute (ISP) on Monday, May 31. Uruguayan President Luis Lacalle Pou announced the news on Tuesday, June 1.
