RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Jenner Institute, linked to Oxford University, may provide a vaccine against the novel coronavirus as early as October.

“If all goes well, we will have the results of the clinical trials in August or September. Given that we are manufacturing in parallel, we are ready to deliver them from October,” he said.
“This vaccine has shown very good results in trials with chimpanzees and has already moved on to the next stage of human trials,” he added.
The vaccine being produced in Oxford is based on live viruses with high replication capacity, which enables it to be produced on a large scale. This allows a large number of doses to be provided within a short period of time and at a low cost.
