Covid-19: Brazil Records Another 1,274 Deaths and 52,160 Cases (August 11th)
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Ministry of Health’s daily update, released yesterday, August 11th, shows that Brazil counts 3,109,630 confirmed Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.
Of this total, 103,026 have died (3.3 percent); 2,243,124 patients have recovered from the disease (72.1 percent); and 763,480 are under treatment (24.6 percent).
In the past 24 hours, 52,160 new confirmed cases and 1,274 deaths have been included in this statistic. Currently, 3,580 deaths are under investigation.
The lethality rate (number of deaths for the total of cases) stood at 3.3 percent. The mortality rate (number of deaths per 100,000 inhabitants) reached 49.0. The incidence of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants is 1479.7.
Since the start of the pandemic, São Paulo has had 639,562 accumulated Covid-19 cases. It is the state with the highest record of the disease, followed by Bahia (198,767), Ceará (190,550), Rio de Janeiro (182,563), and Pará (169,613).
São Paulo also has the highest number of deaths caused by Covid-19 (25,571). Next are Rio de Janeiro (14,212), Ceará (8,011), Pernambuco (7,008), and Pará (5,901).
