Covid vaccination in Brazil reaches 26.1 million, 12.36% of the population

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In the last 24 hours, 155,701 people were administered the vaccine, according to data compiled by the media outlet consortium with health secretariats in 17 states and the Federal District.

Of the total immunized, 9,594,276 were administered the second dose, which represents 4.53% of the population fully vaccinated against the novel coronavirus. In the past 24 hours, 114,491 people were administered the booster dose.

Adding the first and second vaccines doses, Brazil administered 270,192 immunizers on Sunday.

In proportional terms, Rio Grande do Sul is the state that has vaccinated the most of its population so far: 16.97% of inhabitants were administered at least the first dose. The lowest percentage is registered in Mato Grosso, where 8.60% have been administered the vaccine.

In absolute terms, the highest number of people vaccinated with the first dose is registered São Paulo (6.1 million), followed by Minas Gerais (2.59 million) and Bahia (2 million).
